TradieStart: Wage Subsidies to Help You Take On Apprentices

Newsletter section image

Finding and developing skilled tradespeople is one of the biggest challenges facing businesses in the construction industry right now — and Queensland's TradieStart program has been designed to help ease that burden.

TradieStart: Wage Subsidies to Help You Take On Apprentices

Thinking about taking on an apprentice? Queensland's TradieStart program could make it significantly more affordable. Small businesses can access up to $16,000 to hire an apprentice in construction and related trades, while medium and large businesses are eligible for up to $14,000.

Eligible small businesses receive a wage subsidy during training periods for a total of 32 weeks across the life of the apprenticeship — equivalent to 50 per cent of wages during that time.

With Queensland's demand for skilled tradespeople continuing to grow, now is a smart time to explore your options. Read the full details on eligibility and how to apply via Master Builders Queensland.

If you'd like to connect with other local business owners navigating apprenticeships and workforce development, we'd love to see you at an upcoming Mudgeeraba Chamber of Commerce event. Get in touch or join the MCC community to stay across opportunities like this one as they come up.
